Like many people I know, I'm constantly burning incense or aromatic candles.  Especially after a hard day at the office or a busy weekend, there's nothing more relaxing than flickering candle light combined with a pleasant aroma (LILAC is the perfect relaxer!).  But scent is useful for more than just pleasing the senses \and calming the nerves, it may also aid in spells and magickal workings.
